Holiday Inn Express Porto City Centre, an IHG Hotel

The hotel lobby and rooms are clean and modern. The air conditioning and elevators worked reliably. The staff were extremely polite, great with many different languages, and generally pleasant to encounter. There have been many reviews commenting on the inadequacy of the free breakfast. I can attest that the breakfast had MANY different food choices, even a hot option (scrambled eggs). While most of the offerings were breads and pastries (the mini croissants were a standout as were the pastels de nata), there is also yogurt, cereal, many juices, fresh fruit, boiled eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, jams…. Coffee machines for many kinds of coffees, espresso to lattes, etc. I had a delicious breakfast EVERY day. And the common area was open late. Located On R. Santa Catarina, the location was excellent A short walk to the Bolhão metro station and the Mercado do Bolhão as well. There is even a mall for shopping- Via Catarina. Hot tip - go to the rooftop bar at the mall (floor 14) to see a spectacular sunset and get your dance groove on if you feel so inclined. The Holiday Inn Express City Center, Porto, was great value and even better location!!!

Location was great - central and walking distance to everything. Breakfast was good - selection of pastries and breads was nice and bonus of eggs which we didn’t expect. Great aircon in room. Clean room with super comfy beds. Comfortable bathroom with toiletries. Iron in room was really helpful. Staff were friendly and we could store our bags on the day we checked out.

Room facilities, overall design, lights in the bathroom (!) Comfy bed, tasty breakfast. Good cofee. Cleanliness. Location - very close to the historical centre, market, shops, subway station.

breakfast was very good and the staff on reception very helpful. However we did not get rooms together as requested. The main issue though was that we asked if you could book a taxi to return to the airport for 6 people. You were told none were available and we needed 2 cars. However the 2nd car that came was in fact a 6 seater!! we paid for 2 cars unnecessarily. It spoilt the trip a little we felt like we were tricked. I dont think this was your fault but maybe you should use a different taxi firm in future.

Brilliant location - close to some of the main shops and restaurants- but not so close that it is noisy at night. There was no noise from outside so I had a very pleasant stay. Staff are very helpful - I felt very welcome by Diana and her colleagues.
